Almost two years ago, I was searching for a new idea, a new direction, a new something that would inspire me. A friend challenged me to try something completely different. “Forget the market, forget everything you think you know,” she said. “Just write something that makes you laugh.” I warned her that what comes out might be very strange indeed. She said, “I can’t wait.”

Guess what I wrote.

  1. The marriage of two tsetse flies.
  2. 50 Ways to Ruin a Rake – The first of my trilogy of really funny regency romances.
  3. A new form of yogic dance that…um…will never go public.
  4. Sexy, macho werewolves who desperately need tech support.

Answer: 4 – After swearing I would never write werewolves, (I am a cat person) my imagination served up dangerous wolf shifters fighting paranormal threats. That’s no big deal. I love a good werewolf story. But then I imagined them getting tangled up with tech support while trying to save the world. And if those geeks turned furry as well (much to everyone’s surprise), then all sorts of fun things came to mind.

Every once in a while, the muse gives a gift of pure joy. That’s what Were-Geeks Save Wisconsin was for me. I was grinning every day while writing this book. I know you’ll love it, too. As for all those other possibilities. I have not written the marriage of two tsetse flies. After seeing The Fly, I just can’t go there. I can neither confirm nor deny any form of yogic dance. And yes, 50 Ways to Ruin a Rake was an experiment for me too, but not on this level.

Check it out.

WERE-GEEKS Save Wisconsin by Kathy Lyons

WERE-GEEKS Save the World Book 1

When badass werewolves battling supernatural evil realize they need tech support, they recruit a group of geeks with hilarious—and romantic—results.

Chemist Josh Collier is having a blast at a comic book convention when he gets the shock of his life—he’s a werewolf! WTF? Before he can howl, he’s whisked away to a secret lair by Nero, a hot guy dressed as a Roman centurion. Josh’s former life is over, and his genius is needed at Wulf, Inc.

Nero has no interest in babysitting a trainee were-geek when he’d rather be killing the demon that wiped out his entire pack. While Josh analyzes the monster’s weapon, wild passion ignites between him and Nero.

With destiny and their pack in the balance, can they survive the demon out to destroy Wisconsin?
